I carved Mary from a block of limestone that weighed 41.5 pounds.  It was among several stones that were given to me by a kind neighbour who visited my Open Studio in 2016.  I do not know what type of limestone it is, only that it is coarse-grained and contains a large number small fossils and shells.

Mary weighs about 27.6 pounds, and measures 12.5 inches high,  7 inches across at the widest point and 8 inches deep front to back.
