I carved from a 39 pound block of limestone, one of several stones given to me by a kind neighbour who visited my Open Studio in 2016.  I do not know what type of limestone it is, only that it is coarse-grained and contains a fair number of  small  fossils and shells.

Fred measures about 10 inches high 14.5 inches long  & 4.25 inches wide, and weighs about  31.3 pounds or 14.20 kilograms
