Drifting
was carved from a block of relatively
smooth Ancaster limestone. The faint patterns
visible in the finished work are due to
the presence of natural impurities in the
stone, such as minerals or
the fossils of marine
invertebrates
or other organisms.
Drifting is seventeen inches high, ten
inches wide and six inches deep, and
weighs 52.3 pounds / 23.8 Kg
.
