Market Day is a carving of a pregnant young woman, carrying a shopping basket, on her way to market.  It was carved from a tall rectangular block of rough limestone. 

The markings in the finished work are due to the presence of natural impurities in the stone, such as minerals or the fossils of marine invertebrates or other organisms. 

Market Day is 20 inches high, 6 inches wide and 6 inches deep.

It weighs 27.5 pounds  / 12.45 Kg .
